One Week - Moving to Sign-Off

In the last week before the implementation into Production, work continues apace. Stakeholders sign-off is the aim for the week, as well as reducing the defects outstanding, and increasing the tests passed. The figures show that this was partially successful - but we achieved sign-off, so next week is the week of deployment.

The third of five weekly reports:- as the ‘real' implementation approaches, after two preparatory do-nothing code promotions, the focus of both business users and the small project team is starting to shift beyond mid-May. Real business benefit will accrue from the new reporting mechanisms, but there are more opportunities ahead. Is it completely ready? No. Will the date be met? 150% certain - if there are any certainties in IT.

Three Weeks and Counting .....

Three weeks to go, and the journey into PROD continues. There are some significant on-going challenges, late user decisions that have a large impact on time lines, and a UAT environment that runs like a dog. Are we winning? I am not even sure that we are coming second, but we ARE still in the race to implement into PROD in mid-May! The story continues ............
