Today is the last day of the conference, hurry up!!!In this blogpost I want to highlight two wonderful things happening at EuroSTAR 2010. TestLab organized by James Lyndsay and Bart Knaack This is my first experience of actual *testing* in a conference. It is like a lab where you test, interact with other testers, find the most important bug, attend sessions on key products. The next best thing which could happen to EuroSTAR 2010 is the presence of the Cartoon Tester stall right next to the reception. Tutorial on Test Framing, Opening Ceremony, Keynotes.

Most of us like pleasant surprises and it was my turn to experience one such surprise when my manager called for a 1-1 meeting. I was asked to travel to Germany for two full weeks to attend some training sessions. This was my second international trip this year after the VISTACON conference in Vietnam. The trip to Vietnam was relatively a short one and my first experience of air-travel. With lots of interesting experience at hotel, airport(s), flights and the wonderful conference I was prepared for the trip to Germany.

Just when I was about to shut down the computer, my sister said: Anna Anna, idhi type chei [Hey brother, please type this for me] and handed a one page handwritten sheet. I took the sheet, typed and saved the document. I called her to inform that the document was ready. Instead of being happy that the task was completed so soon, she was unhappy. I was shocked to know the reason.

It was a big day for me. The three finalists of BlogSTAR were announced on that day. After six weeks of posting blogs, reading other blog posts, it was time for the finale. The three finalists were to be announced at 8 a.m. London time on Oct 20th. I woke up in the middle of night and checked for 'current time in London'; my mobile phone displayed: '01.00 a.m'. I was anxious, excited and could not sleep properly. After few hours, I got ready, took the cab to office, set an alarm for 8 a.m. London time and concentrated on my work.
