Win a Speaking Slot at EuroSTAR 2011!
Due to popular demand - VideoSTAR is
back! This is your chance to win a speaking slot at
EuroSTAR 2011! We had such a great response in 2010 and were
really impressed with all the innovative and inspiring videos we
received - this year's entrants have a hard act to follow! So, you
ask, what do you have to do? Well it's really simple:
Each year we have what we call the 'traditional' route to
obtaining a slot to speak at EuroSTAR 2011 - the Call for
Submissions. VideoSTAR shakes things up a bit...this is a
Call for Videos! We want you to make a short movie
telling us why you should speak at this year's EuroSTAR
conference.
As such there are no rules (almost anything
goes), but we may disqualify some videos if we feel the content is
inappropriate. All VideoSTAR finalists will appear on the
EuroSTAR website on 28th March, along with a simple poll,
and the video that gets the most votes wins a speaking slot at the
EuroSTAR 2011 conference in Manchester. We don't decide the
winner - the testing community does!
It doesn't matter if you've never spoken before, or if you've
already submitted 20 proposals through the traditional Call for
Submissions channel. We also don't mind if you're a test tool
vendor or a sales or marketing guy/gal. Remember - the
normal rules on the number of speakers from a
company/country/topic do not apply.
Please don't go hiring a Hollywood studio for a month; remember
its content that matters when it comes to movies. So get out your
home camcorder, or even your phone, and start shooting! The winner
will be awarded a 45 minute speaking slot at the 2011
conference. If you can get the votes, then we will
make you a STAR.
So how do you enter?
- Put your Steven Spielberg hat on, and decide on the content of
your movie!
- Make the movie.
- Upload the movie to www.youtube.com and send the URL
to kevin@eurostarconferences.com
(don't send the movie directly to us as it'll probably kill our
email server).
- Closing date for entries is Friday 18th March 2011.
- Once the VideoSTAR competition launches on www.eurostarconferences.com you will need to contact
your testing colleagues, boss, friends, customers, accountant,
postman, dog or just about anybody who will vote for your video.
You must do the canvassing, and it's really simple: most votes
wins!
- When the voting launches keep an eye on the online poll and
you'll be able to see exactly how your entry is doing.
- Voting ends 1st April at 12pm GMT
